Putting together the daily, then weekly updates meant reading thousands of heartbreaking stories. As the months went by, we also shared stories of where the system had fallen short, often with tragic consequences. We started this series with the goal of elevating best practices, and showing how proactive, humane responses to the pandemic could protect both public safety and public health.
